Are there any side effects associated with Creatine Monohydrate? 

Yes, taking more than the recommended dose at one time could result in an upset stomach and possibly diarrhea. Not drinking the recommended amount of water (8 to 12 cups per day) could result in dehydration as the muscle cells will continue to absorb water from the rest of the body due to their creatine monohydrate "saturation". This dehydration could also cause cramping.
